Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: August 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how WordPara ("WordPara," "we," "us," or "our") handles your information when you use the WordPara mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide and improve the App:
- Account information. When you create an account, we process your email address and authentication details. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (such as your email) from that provider. Authentication and your profile are managed using Supabase, our backend and authentication provider.
- Purchase information. When you buy WordPara Premium, the purchase is processed by the app store you downloaded the App from: Apple In-App Purchase on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android. We use RevenueCat to verify your purchase and manage your entitlement status on both platforms. We never receive or store your full payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google, depending on your platform.
- Learning and usage data. To power features such as progress tracking, daily quizzes, streaks, and rewards, we store data about your activity in the App (for example, words you have studied, quiz results, coins earned, and favorites).
- Device and technical data. We may process limited technical information (such as device type, operating system version, and app version) to keep the App stable and diagnose issues.
- Advertising data. The App shows interstitial ads supplied by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure those ads, Google processes limited device and ad-interaction data, including your device's advertising identifier on Android. See the Advertising section below for details.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To provide core features such as word cards, quizzes, listening practice, synonyms, and rewards.
- To unlock and restore your Premium entitlement after a purchase.
- To show ads in the App and to measure how those ads perform.
- To sync supported cloud-backed data, including Premium status, favorites and selected learning progress, across supported devices.
- To respond to support requests and improve the App.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the App. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service:
- Supabase — authentication, account profiles, and secure storage of your learning data.
- RevenueCat — management and verification of in-app purchases and Premium entitlements.
- Apple — App Store distribution and processing of In-App Purchases on iOS. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
- Google Play — Google Play distribution and processing of in-app purchases through Google Play Billing on Android. Google's handling of your data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Google AdMob — delivery and measurement of the interstitial ads shown in the App.
Advertising
WordPara shows interstitial ads supplied by Google AdMob on both iOS and Android. Ads appear only after you tap certain buttons in the App, and the action you started continues once you close the ad. Ads are not rewarded: viewing an ad does not give you coins, energy, or any other in-app benefit. Ads may also be shown to users who have purchased Premium, because Premium is not an ad-free purchase. The App does not use banner, rewarded, or app-open ad formats.
To select and measure ads, Google may process your device's advertising identifier together with limited device and ad-interaction data. Where consent is required — for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom — we ask for it through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), and ads are then requested in line with the choice you make.
On iOS, WordPara does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on secure servers operated by our infrastructure providers. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit — data travels between the App and our providers over HTTPS — to help protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Account deletion and data retention
You can delete your account at any time directly inside the App from Account > Delete Account. When you delete your account, your authentication record and personal profile data are permanently removed, and data associated with your activity (such as reward claims) is anonymized so it can no longer be linked to you. We retain limited records only where required for legal, security, or accounting purposes. For more detail, see our Delete Account page.
Children's privacy
WordPara is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age required by your local laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise many of these rights directly in the App, or contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
